Best known for adding bitterness and flavor to beers, hops grow well in the Northeast. They have a strong climbing habit which allows them to trellis as high as you’ll let them go. The hop strobiles (flowers) are harvested in the late summer and can be used for brewing and in tea blends for their naptime calming properties. The vines die back every winter and can be used for basket making.
